Blogging: Part Time Work at Home the “Write” Way
Unless you’ve lived in a cave for the past few years, you’ve probably heard of blogging. Most people blog as a way of informing the world of their political views, of writing about their hobbies, or just sharing their thoughts on life. There is also an ever growing group of online entrepreneurs who blog for money. I’m going to talk about those right now.
First, we have to look at how and why bloggers are able to get traffic (visitors, or readers) to their blogs. Google and the other search engines LOVE blogs. Why? Because blogs introduce new content to the web at least once a week and often, once a day. The search engines are all about content. They want to provide their users (you and me) with the best content possible. Not only that, but they also like to provide us with up to date, current content, and that’s where their special affinity for blogs comes into play. Because blogs publish new content so often, the search engines notice and index blogs’ content faster than other content that’s published on the web. The result? A blog is found more often in the search results, which means more visitors arrive at the blog.
Now, for the political enthusiast or the writer who loves to be heard on their soap box, this is great news because it creates a broader reader base. For the entrepreneur, it’s even better news because more visitors mean (you guessed it!) more revenue from their blog!
Individuals who blog for money create their blogs by using a different strategy than the one that regular bloggers use. They spot profitable niches on the web – subjects that are searched for a lot on the search engines, but that don’t have a lot of related published content. Then, they blog about these subjects. Because they don’t have a lot of competition, their blog is found by the search engines, and they start to receive lots of free traffic. If you don’t already know, free search engine traffic is the holy grail of internet marketing. It’s very easy to make money online if you have a website or blog that gets a steady of visitors. Getting the traffic is the hard part for internet marketing novices.
So, how do you learn how to do all of this? I learned from Amy Bass’ Niche Blogger course. Check our her site here.
